933 Hispano-Suiza J12 Vanvooren Coupe

Introduced in 1932, this eye-catching 1933 Hispano-Suiza J12 Coupe was the definition of luxury at the time and was an entrant at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the crown jewel of car shows in the world .  The coachwork on this short chassis car was by Carrosserie Vanvooren, a famous French coachbuilder that built bodies for such luxury carmakers as Hispano-Suiza, Bugatti, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Delage, and Delahaye. After being owned by collectors in Europe, Mexico and eventually in the United States, the car was fully restored in 1985 and entered in the Pebble Beach Concours in 1997 and 2013.  This photo was taken during the 2013 Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance as a procession of vintage cars was traveling along U.S. Highway 1 between Carmel and Big Sur near the famous Bixby Bridge.
