Artist and Photographer Janet Cass has always been fascinated with nature, its landscapes, bodies of water, centuries-old mineral deposits, and the impact of environmental changes. Applying her talent as an artist, she began creating compositions from objects and scenes that many might otherwise find mundane. To say the least, when it involves photographing nature, the words "boring or mundane" are not a part of Janet Cass's vocabulary.

 

Janet takes the time to explore elements of her subjects, including textures, light and shadows, hidden images, and more. Her innate sense of composition and artistry elevates her subject material from something banal and easy to dismiss to images that express a great deal more than the naked eye could imagine. Whether the outcome manifests as abstract images or reflects real life, the results are beautiful and captivating.​

 

With this collection of brilliantly captured images, Janet steps out of the box featuring limited-edition works that are printed on canvas by highly skilled printers who use high-quality canvases and equipment that produce exceptional color tones and definition. The results are a beautiful and collectible alternative to traditional toned silver gelatin prints.

In addition, this collection offers images that are acrylic mounted. Photographs are printed on high-grade photo paper (satin or metallic), then face-mounted to acrylic glass (Plexiglass) so that you're looking through the acrylic at a print. Acrylic is unique in that the light refracts within the acrylic, instead of passing through as it does with glass. Because the costs of processing and materials are greater than canvas printing, acrylic mounted works are priced higher than works on canvas. Whichever method you prefer and/or meets your budget, both are excellent alternatives to traditional fine art photographs for display.
