A rare early 19th Century (France), elaborately decorated Forged/Wrought Iron cemetary planter/container. The outer border of the container is decorated with swag and fleur de lis and stands of large fleur de lis footing and has a Gothic appeal. A removable iron liner is set into the center of the container. The large outer container is in excellent condition, given its age and use. The center liner is water stained and shows some wearing away of its blackened metal. This piece was later used to hold firewood, and to hold flowers, as shown. This piece can be displayed in both interior and exterior settings.
